Barn wedding at The Preston Barn in Dover Plains, New York.
From the moment I first sat down at a little French cafe in Brooklyn with Becca and Harry at to chat about their wedding, I knew it was going to be special. We had initially met last year on a farm in New Hope, PA at a wedding I was photographing for their friends, Emma and Andrew. Cozy gatherings are kind of my thing - intimacy, string lights, nature - oh yes.
The ladies and gents got themselves ready in separate cabins on the property that were like stepping back in time. With super low ceilings (I had to duck) and a rustic vintage vibe, the place was unmistakably romantic.
Becca and Harry opted to have a fist look which we placed in a beautifully secluded space out in the woods. Sunlight was streaming through the trees and leaves glistened all around them. The ceremony was quick, lovely and simple, surrounded by nature and bordered by old rock walls. Their reception was in a renovated barn on the property with glowing string lights and an outdoor cocktail hour. Becca and Harry skipped a traditional cake and had a self serve gourmet ice cream bar instead. They danced the night away with their family and core group of friends, the sweetest people. Enjoy their photo story below.
